Very happy with the height & length of the clothesline. Had a little difficulty opening one side of the legs due to the plastic being slightly narrow at the top but used a screwdriver to carefully pry the leg into place & all now appears to be good. My King size sheets dry well & quickly even though I have to fold them in half but the height is perfect for the length. Love the sock holder for drying too. Very easy to put together & very easy to fold up when not in use. Better than everything I looked at as it’s very sturdy. Delivery was also very quick

Very easy to install. I had to cut the two long arm rods to make them shorter which of course leaves exposed metal, anlbeit enclosed in the joiner rod, prone to rust. It would be good for Hills to have a choice of varying rod sizes or capacity to order to overcoming having to cut the rods. Cutting however was easy.

What Is The DifferenceBetween A Wall Mount And Ground Mount folding frame Clothesline?

The main difference between a Wall Mount and Ground Mount Folding Frame Clothesline is the installation method.

While the clothesline itself is the same, the Ground Mount kit allows for a freestanding setup, giving you the flexibility to place your clothesline away from walls. The Wall Mount version, on the other hand, is fixed to a wall for support.

Can a Folding Frame Clothesline be mounted on a wall or installed free-standing in the ground?

Yes, a folding frame clothesline is versatile and can be mounted on a wall or installed free-standing using a ground mount kit.

However, some smaller models are wall-mount only and don’t support ground installation.

What is the difference between a standard ground mount kit and a plated one?

The key difference between a standard Ground Mount Kit and a Plated Ground Mount Kit lies in the installation method:

Standard Ground Mount Kit: Designed to be installed directly into the ground and concreted in place, providing a permanent, secure foundation for your clothesline.

Plated Ground Mount Kit: Uses plates that are bolted to a concrete surface, allowing the ground mount kit to slide into these plates, which makes it easier to relocate or remove if needed.

Can I install my fold down clothesline on a fence?

It's generally not recommended to install a folding frame Clotheslines on fences (timber or colorbond), as the weight of wet washing can cause the fence to lean or become unstable over time.

A better alternative is to use a ground mount kit, allowing the clothesline to stand freely next to the fence.

That said, there may be exceptions. It's always a good idea to assess the fence's structure and suitability before installing your new clothesline.

How high should I install my Clothesline?

The ideal installation height for a clothesline is typically 50 to 100mm above the head of the person who will be using it most.

For a wall-mounted clothesline, the average installation height is around 1800mm.

For ground-mounted clotheslines, they can be installed lower depending on your preference, but if you need it mounted higher, feel free to contact our local clothesline support team for more details and options.

How much is delivery?

Do you have an installation and removal service?

Yes, we do, this service is an optional extra

Can I pickup my clothesline?

At the moment we are only allowing pickups for Austral branded clotheslines. Please contact our friendly support team if you'd like to arrange a pickup.

Can I have a custom size clothesline?

With the folding frame and ground mount style clotheslines, you absolutely can. We can trim the width for free on our Air Dry Made to Order range during manufacturing, or you can trim the width on most other brands yourself while you are installing your clothesline.

Every product will say in the description and specifications if it can be cut down and how to do so or you can see them in our how to section.

What do I need if I want to install my clothesline myself?

In the product description we have listed
"what's required for DIY install" as well as a link to the product manual which has detailed installation instructions.
